Welcome Back to School! We are excited about the 2018-2019 school year. At Jonesboro-Hodge High School we strive for Excellence -- One Step Beyond. The faculty, staff, and administration have been working collaboratively to provide each student with valuable educational opportunities. You will notice that several changes have taken place on our campus. It is our desire that you will benefit from these changes, and they will lead to a very productive school year. We are asking for POSITIVE PARENTAL SUPPORT. We strive to make educational decisions that are in the best interest of all STUDENTS.
We are working hard to improve school performance. We have made tremendous strides in all areas over the past few years. “Failure Is Not An Option.” It is imperative that every student makes an effort to be a part of our success. We are very excited about new changes in our curriculum. We have fully implemented our Positive Behavior Initiatives. We are utilizing “PAWS” as our theme this year. Prepare Yourself, Act Respectful, Work Together, and Safety First. Students will be expected to demonstrate PAWS characteristics daily.
I am excited about this school year. EVERY STUDENT at Jonesboro-Hodge High School is important. Students will be treated with dignity and respect. However, we expect students to reciprocate these actions. We want to assist each student in setting and achieving his or her goals and aspirations. The process of setting goals allows students to choose where they want to go in school and what they want to achieve. By knowing what they want to achieve, they know what they have to concentrate on and improve. Goal setting gives students long-term vision and short-term motivation. Having sharp, clearly defined goals, which students can measure, will allow them to take pride in accomplishing those goals. By setting goals students can: 1. improve their academic performance; 2. increase their motivation to achieve; 3. increase pride and satisfaction in performance and 4. improve their self-confidence. Goal setting is a team effort and students must take the following initiatives:
